DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff

THE THROWBACK TAG

These posts are one of my favourites to read so I thought it was time to do another! Here are my answers to the Throwback Tag questions!

1) What year were you born?

1999

2) What did you look like when you were younger? (share a picture!)

Here are a few of me when I was little, I have to admit, I was a fan of the camera!

3) What TV shows did you watch when you were young?

When I was really young I loved Bob The Builder and Bear in the Big Blue House & then when I was a bit older I was obsessed with Disney Channel - my favourite was probably Wizards of Waverly Place!

4) What toys did you play with and what was the name of your favourite toy?

I liked playing with Polly Pocket a lot, and Tamagotchi's oh my, they were great! When I was a little older I loved playing on my Nintendo DS mostly! One of my favourite toys was a bear called Picnic!

5) What songs did you love when you were young?

I was obsessed with the song 'The Tide is High' when I was pretty young, I can remember singing it on holiday in New Quay, Cornwall! When at Primary School most of us loved songs like 5,6,7,8 by Steps or Reach by S Club 7, as well as all the other classic 'party' songs!

6) Did you collect anything when you were growing up?

A few things but the thing I kept up longest was crystals, I thought they were so pretty and fascinating so I'd always collect another if I went somewhere new! There is also a tiny shop that sells them where I live so plenty came from there, I think my favourite is the big Amethyst as that was my first and it started my love of them!

7) Where did you go on your first holiday?

My first holiday was to Norfolk when I was about 18 months, I don't remember it but we do have some videos so I can look back on it!

8) What did you want to be when you grew up?

There's nothing that I really really wanted to be, however, most of the time I would have said a teacher as I love playing schools. I do remember that I wanted to be a glassblower at one point actually, I saw someone doing it on holiday and thought it was really cool!

9) When did you get your first phone and what was it?

I got my first phone for my 10th birthday in Year 5, it was a Sony Ericcson T303. I thought it was super cool because it was a metallic pink & was a slider phone! I actually still have it just for sentimentality!

10) Have you kept anything special from your childhood?

I'm a real hoarder of sentimental things so I've got bits stored away, some of it is so random - including some unused stickers from Disney World that I got on holiday in Florida 12 years ago! I also like to keep postcards of places I've been on holiday to, it's a lovely reminder of the memories!

11) What were you scared of as a child?

I was never scared of the usual things like the dark, heights, monsters etc. I was more worried about 'real' things - I say real loosely because a lot of it was ridiculous! Basically I would go to bed and start thinking about things like World War III if I heard a plane, or often I'd go to my Mum and say that I'd been thinking about death...(cheerful I know!) What makes me laugh most is that I was also worried that I might catch smallpox or bird flu, in fact I used to hate going anywhere near birds, just in case! I was a very happy child, despite what idea that may give you, I guess I just took overthinking to the extreme!!

12) What did you like to play with your friends at school?

We definitely enjoyed playing Mums & Dads, schools, Bulldog, or Cops and Robbers. In the summer we always spent a lot of time doing handstands & cartwheels, as well as doing various clapping games!

13) What are some foods that make you think of your childhood?

Calippo Shots, Dairylea Dunkers, Panda Pops, Jelly & Ice Cream, Pink Wafers, Mingles, Cheesestrings, Humzinger bars, Millionaire Shortbread and a questionable meal that I'd ask for my birthday was pancakes with peaches and chocolate ice cream!

14) What books did you enjoy reading as a child?

I loved the Rainbow Fairy series, I collected so many of them! I also really enjoyed a lot of Enid Blyton's books, my favourite series of hers was Malory Towers or The Faraway Tree books! I couldn't forget about Jacqueline Wilson as well, I've read and loved so many of her books, I think my favourite would have to be Candyfloss but that's a hard choice!

15) What were your favourite films when you were a child?

When I was really young I adored The Wizard of Oz and watched it almost every day for quite a while, then I got into all the Disney movies - Sleeping Beauty was my favourite because I loved pink at the time! When I was 7 High School Musical came out and after that those films were definitely an obsession for most of Primary School!

16) Did you have any imaginary friends?

Yes, sort of! At pre-school, I went around telling people that my Gran had died and was buried at Windsor after the Queen Mother died in 2002 because I got confused. My Mum had to explain that I saw the news and thought that it meant that she was related to everyone. However I quickly got bored of having a Gran that had died, so I then just had an imaginary Gran for a bit!

Wow, I'm feeling so nostalgic after that! It was so interesting to look back on things and remember bits about my childhood, I'd love to see everyone answering these questions, let me know if you do!

BLOGMAS: CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE

Christmas is approaching so today I thought I'd share my gift guide to hopefully give you inspiration for the people you are buying for this year. I am going to do a combination of gifts for her, gifts for him and then gifts for anyone!  Knitted Jumper - Perfect for this time of the year and something most people would appreciate. Head over to Asos for a huge selection!  Jacket - Another one that is useful for the colder weather, personally I'd like a denim jacket this Christmas but you could also go for a leather, smarter or bomber jacket. Have a look on Topshop for some inspiration!        Image via: Topshop  Shirt - This is definitely something I know my Dad would appreciate and would be a great present if you tend to dress smarter on Christmas day! There are some great choices at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.  Slippers - Another ideal gift for this time of the year and so cosy,  Next  have some great ones!  Converse - Another one that is on my l

1 YEAR OF BLOGGING!

I did it, a whole year of blogging! I'm so glad that I stuck at it because I enjoy it so much and can't believe how much progress I've made with it all. Not only that, but I've connected to so many people all around the world which is just amazing, I can't wait to see what the next year working on my blog brings! Anyway, here is a sum up of my blogging journey so far. What I've achieved - Just over 50 posts which is equal to roughly 1 per week, and I'm definitely pleased with that! I started off slow and could have probably done a lot more but at least I've got something to work towards! - Hit 1.5k+ followers on my blog Twitter account and also had 30.5k impressions in my best month - Reached 200+ followers on my blog Instagram account after starting to properly use it in May - Had 2562 viewers on Pinterest in one day and an average of around 1000 - Over 9000 pageviews, the fact that I'm on the way to 10,000 blows my mind! -

MID-YEAR GOALS

Since we're halfway through the year I thought I'd do some reflecting and wanted to refocus on some goals to work towards for the rest of 2018. I like having something to work towards whether it's more short-term or something that I'd like to improve over time. I've tried to include a range of things so I can target different aspects of my life! Blogging Goals Hit 2000 followers on Twitter - I just hit 1.5k so 2000 is my next goal! I'm really pleased with how my Twitter following is growing as it's my favourite social media and way to connect! Hit 500 followers on Instagram - My blog account is pretty new & I'm still learning to use it for blogging but I hope to reach at least 500 followers. Work with more companies - It's so rewarding when brands contact and want to work with you so I'd love to work with more companies, I've not had much experience of it but have done a couple of reviews!
