DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

AUTUMN SHOWS AND FILMS

Autumn is in full swing and during the many rainy days, watching a show or film is the best way to spend a day! So, I thought I'd share some of my favourite things to watch during this season..

Gilmore Girls

Nothing says Autumn like Gilmore Girls, it's always the most mentioned show when it comes to this time of the year. Stars Hollow is the ultimate cosy town and they do seasonal so well, it's my favourite show and is one you can re-watch whenever. I've already re-watched it earlier this year and I'm already missing it! For anyone that has no idea what Gilmore Girls is, it follows mother and daughter duo - Lorelai and Rory and if you've never watched it now is a perfect time!

The Great British Bake Off

Another classic feel-good show that I love and I’m so pleased they were able to do another series this year! I’d definitely recommend having snacks whilst you’re watching though because it makes me so hungry!

Chesapeake Shores

I've not heard many people mention this series before but if you're looking for a pretty lighthearted, typical Hallmark plot then this is exactly that. You've got the business person who learns to appreciate small-town life, family and overall it's just an easy watch with some great country music!

Sweet Magnolias

A newer series that I kept seeing come up on Netflix. Also, a lot of people recommended it if you like Gilmore Girls so that instantly got my attention! It's not as warm and light as GG but I'm still intrigued and would watch another season.

New Girl

Another one of my favourites, I've been re-watching it recently and forgot how funny it was! I wouldn't necessarily associate it with Autumn but since it's such a feel-good show, it's great to binge and what's better during the darker evenings!

Emily in Paris

I was looking for something new to watch so watched this all very quickly after it released. It's full of clichés but it's an easy watch and certainly made me want to visit Paris again! I went 9 years ago around this time of the year and it was amazing so I'd be interested in watching season 2 just for more Parisian vibes!

Virgin River

This show is set in such a gorgeous location, especially if you love waterside cabins like me! Some of the plot lines are deeper than other shows but it’s got the classic romance and small-town community feel. It left me wanting more so I’m really glad season 2 is coming soon!

The Haunting of Hill House/Bly Manor

If you’re looking for something on the spookier side as we’re coming up to Halloween, both of these series are a good watch. I like horror but often find it disappointing if it’s not done well but really enjoyed these. I preferred Hill House for sure and it’s a better choice if you want jump scares but both had interesting storylines!

Stranger Things

One that most people have probably watched already but it’s great for this time of the year. The first two series are set during the Autumn months so if you haven’t watched it or want to give it a re-watch, I’d say now would be ideal!

Enola Holmes

When I saw the trailer for this I was pretty intrigued and knew Millie Bobby-Brown would be great for the role! I love the BBC Sherlock series and thought Enola was a really interesting character and can imagine there will be a sequel!

Carrie Pilby

This kept coming up on my Netflix recently so I thought I’d give it a go. It’s a classic coming of age film with mistakes, relationship troubles and learning so if that’s your thing then I’d recommend it!

October Kiss

I watched this last year and although it’s very cheesy and predictable, it’s great if you want something with classic Autumnal scenes!

Sleepless in Seattle

If you love a rom-com you’ve probably already seen it but I don’t think I’d actually watched this fully until recently. Which is mad considering it’s such a classic!

You’ve Got Mail

Another Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan film, both of whom are really likeable and watchable actors. I think I prefer this to Sleepless in Seattle, possibly for the scenes of New York in the Autumn, which I’d love to experience one day!

I'm sure there are so many more things that people love to watch during the Autumn months so please let me know any of your suggestions!

  1. As an American living in Paris, Emily in Paris was certainly entertaining!

1 YEAR OF BLOGGING!

I did it, a whole year of blogging! I'm so glad that I stuck at it because I enjoy it so much and can't believe how much progress I've made with it all. Not only that, but I've connected to so many people all around the world which is just amazing, I can't wait to see what the next year working on my blog brings! Anyway, here is a sum up of my blogging journey so far. What I've achieved - Just over 50 posts which is equal to roughly 1 per week, and I'm definitely pleased with that! I started off slow and could have probably done a lot more but at least I've got something to work towards! - Hit 1.5k+ followers on my blog Twitter account and also had 30.5k impressions in my best month - Reached 200+ followers on my blog Instagram account after starting to properly use it in May - Had 2562 viewers on Pinterest in one day and an average of around 1000 - Over 9000 pageviews, the fact that I'm on the way to 10,000 blows my mind! -...

MAKING A RETURN TO BLOGGING

So, it’s safe to say that it’s been a while since I’ve posted on here! The last time I posted I hadn’t even started university and now I’m sitting here, a few weeks into my Second Year.  I moved to Brighton last September and I love it. It was a place I was drawn to for years, so there wasn’t much deliberation once I knew there was a course I liked and so began my journey as a Media Studies student.  I’ve met so many new people in the past year and a bit and it’s probably been the busiest I’ve ever been. There are always things on in Brighton and I’ve definitely made the most of what it offers! Brighton has a crazy amount of pubs and whilst I can’t say I’ve visited them all I’ve definitely found some favourites and look forward to trying our new ones over this next academic year. Just recently my housemates and I went to a pub quiz at one of our local pubs which were great fun! Some of the other things I’ve got up to in the last year include karaoke, mini golf, an escape room,...
