DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

4 QUICK AND EASY HAIRSTYLES

There are so many different types of things you can try out on your hair, regardless of the length but today I've decided to go back to basics!

I love the beach waves look, it's so effortless and looks great on both long and short hair. I have naturally wavy hair but in order to tame it I will let it dry naturally almost completely and then I will use a little water and scrunch up the ends, almost to make them bounce. Not too much so that your hair is dripping again and I only go about half way up as I prefer the upper section of my hair to remain straight. Sometimes I'll actually use my straighteners on the top to give a more polished look as well If you have naturally straight hair and find that waves or curves drop out before the day is over then I would definitely recommend using salt spray. I love the Schwarzkopf got2b Beach Matt Salt Spray which is only £3 on Amazon!

One of the best quick hairstyles is of course a quick up do. Now I know that all of us have our own ways to achieve that perfect 'messy bun' look but here is how I do mine! Firstly I like to tie it up in a ponytail (a bun is much looser) in order to add more volume and then I will lightly twist the pony tail to form the bun shape. In order for it to look messy and put together I then pull out little sections and neaten it up using bobby pins. This is so useful when you want to get your hair out of your face, especially if you're doing work or it is the perfect hairstyle when you've had a long day and just want to thrown on your sweatpants and watch Netflix!

A simple ponytail can be so effective, whether you're going for a casual or smarter look and that is why I had to put it on this list. Yes, it might seem sort of boring but I like to straighten it slightly and then pull out sections at the front to give a really sophisticated finished look. Pulling out small sections can help to frame your face and soften the look so that the harshness of a pulled back high ponytail is more subtle and it doesn't take long at all!

Lastly is a bit of a more time consuming hairstyle and maybe one that takes some practise! Hey, I haven't even mastered it fully yet but I do sort of like that it doesn't look too neat! Braids come in various different forms but the French braid is one of the most well known, it looks fancy but really it is actually fairly easy to do. I could try and explain step by step but here is a great tutorial, courtesy of All Things Hair. This style is great if you want to spend a little more time than usual but still want your hair out of your face, what I like is that you can make it as neat and tidy as you like depending on the occasion. Again you could also pull out little sections at the front if you want, or why not try doing a side braid instead!

I love experimenting with hairstyles so now I've done the simple, 'everyday' looks, maybe I'll do some more challenging tutorials in the future!
