DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff

MONTHLY FAVOURITES

Well, we're another month down and so I thought I'd do another favourites post. I think it's so important to acknowledge and enjoy the little things at the moment - if it improved my day or mood then it gets a place in my monthly favourites!

Sunset Walks

Now that the weather has started improving I've been going on walks more regularly again. Getting outside at any time feels great but I love going out in the evening to see the sun setting. Although the air is cooler, a chilled evening walk is relaxing and is one of my favourite ways to end a day. I'm very grateful to have such lovely views where I live so of course, I can't help but take many photos, though they never quite do the colours justice!

Treeapp

Treeapp allows everyone to plant trees on their behalf, via NGOs. You can contribute to the planting of trees at various restoration projects around the world (each tree is planted within 180 days). What's great is that it's free to plant one tree each day and you can fund additional trees yourself too. The app allows you to track your global impact and carbon footprint - something you can help offset by using Treeapp regularly! Each free tree is funded by eco-conscious sponsors and I've really enjoyed discovering new brands, products and people too. If you're interested, you can join here!

TV

Like most months (particularly in lockdown), I've also been watching a variety of things. The first I want to mention is The Great Pottery Throwdown, which I can't believe I hadn't watched before. Pottery is something I didn't know much about but always found it an interesting craft and the show is a perfect mix of wholesome entertainment and explaining the various techniques and skills involved. I'm already considering buying some clay to have a go making some small pots myself! If you love Bake Off like me, then definitely give this a watch - you can catch up on the last two series on All 4.

Two series I've been eagerly waiting for have started again, the first being Unforgotten, which is an ITV crime drama that focuses on cold cases of murder and disappearances. If you've been on Twitter after 9pm on Sundays for the last two weeks then you'll probably know that Line of Duty has started again too! It's such a gripping series that keeps you thinking and after the Series 5 finale, there are some highly anticipated answers we're all hoping to get! If you're into police procedurals then I highly recommend you catching up on BBC iPlayer!

Hair Straightener Heat Brush

This heat brush from Veyfun has been a great addition to my hair styling products. My natural hair is wavy and sometimes I love it, however, on the days where it just looks a little frizzy then I prefer to straighten it since it's just easier to style! This brush definitely allows me to straighten my hair much quicker than any straighteners I've used over the years and it's so easy to use. It would also be ideal if you're just looking for a quick touch up or to straighten out a few kinks. It gives my great volume and I haven't felt like I could burn myself at any point either (we've all been there with straighteners!)

Beauty

There are a few beauty related items I wanted to share this month. Firstly is an Essie Nail Polish in the shade 163 Final Stretch, which is a pinky/nude colour. It uses a vegan formula and applies really nicely, I think it's a perfect shade for spring to add a bit of colour but still looks fairly simple.

I recently started using a CBD infused cleanser from the brand Vitality. I can't say that it's had much of an impact on my skin yet since I've not used it enough to really tell. However, it does feel super light and leaves my skin feeling really clean and soft. Some cleansers can feel quite harsh on the skin but this feels calming and I'm definitely interested to see if it has any more noticeable effects to the appearance of my skin!

Please do let me know what your current favourites are as I'm always looking to try out new things - whether it's a product, something you're watching, or a new pastime!

1 YEAR OF BLOGGING!

I did it, a whole year of blogging! I'm so glad that I stuck at it because I enjoy it so much and can't believe how much progress I've made with it all. Not only that, but I've connected to so many people all around the world which is just amazing, I can't wait to see what the next year working on my blog brings! Anyway, here is a sum up of my blogging journey so far. What I've achieved - Just over 50 posts which is equal to roughly 1 per week, and I'm definitely pleased with that! I started off slow and could have probably done a lot more but at least I've got something to work towards! - Hit 1.5k+ followers on my blog Twitter account and also had 30.5k impressions in my best month - Reached 200+ followers on my blog Instagram account after starting to properly use it in May - Had 2562 viewers on Pinterest in one day and an average of around 1000 - Over 9000 pageviews, the fact that I'm on the way to 10,000 blows my mind! -

MID-YEAR GOALS

Since we're halfway through the year I thought I'd do some reflecting and wanted to refocus on some goals to work towards for the rest of 2018. I like having something to work towards whether it's more short-term or something that I'd like to improve over time. I've tried to include a range of things so I can target different aspects of my life! Blogging Goals Hit 2000 followers on Twitter - I just hit 1.5k so 2000 is my next goal! I'm really pleased with how my Twitter following is growing as it's my favourite social media and way to connect! Hit 500 followers on Instagram - My blog account is pretty new & I'm still learning to use it for blogging but I hope to reach at least 500 followers. Work with more companies - It's so rewarding when brands contact and want to work with you so I'd love to work with more companies, I've not had much experience of it but have done a couple of reviews!
