DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

JULY MONTHLY FAVOURITES

Turns out we're in August already, I'm not sure where this year has gone but here we are. A few days ago I watched the trailer for the new series of The Great British Bake Off which I definitely associate with Autumn. Seems like we're well on our way to the end of the year already! Anyway, before I get ahead of myself here are a few things that I enjoyed through July.

Experience

I saw quite a lot of different family members this month, we went to a christening and then spent some relatives on my Mum's side - she has a huge family who are fairly spread out and I hadn't seen a lot of them for quite a few years so it was nice to see some familiar faces! Towards the end of the month, my Uncle and younger cousins - Rudi and Aya visited. He is 3 and she is about 6 months now, I hadn't seen them since March so it was amazing to see how much they had both grown, he is quite the joker and she has just changed completely since she was so tiny last time we saw her. She definitely wasn't a fan of staying in one place so I wandered around the house a bit, she found her reflection in the mirror very amusing!

Fashion

My fashion pick of this month has to be espadrilles, they are so incredibly easy to wear as you can chuck them on with a casual outfit or they can also be dressed up if you're going out and need to be a bit smarter but don't want to wear heels. I only have a couple pairs but they're really comfortable so I definitely want to get some more, especially to wear on holiday later in August!

TV

There's quite a bit I want to talk about for tv in July. Firstly is the World Cup, now I know it started in June but the final was in July so I thought I'd add it in here, I actually really enjoy watching football so was pleased to see a lot more people showing interest in it this year. It was amazing to see the England team do so well, despite not reaching the final I think it's safe to say that we were all very pleased with their performance and hopefully, they can continue that in the future! Just really quickly I have to mention Love Island - I featured it in last month's favourites but I had to say how pleased I was that Dani and Jack won! I think everyone expected it as they really made the series but yeah, my 9 o'clocks are feeling quite empty at the moment haha! I also watched Queer Eye this month, I'm a bit late to the party but had heard so much and decided to give it a go. I have to say that I was not disappointed, it's a brilliant series and each episode is so engaging and the results are always so great to see. I'd definitely recommend it to people looking for something new to binge!

Food

During the summer fruit definitely becomes my go-to snack. I think my favourites are probably pineapple and mango but I've been loving lots of different fruits this month including your classic apples and bananas, as well as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches and nectarines! Since it has been so hot recently fruit is really an ideal snack as it's so juicy and refreshing, I definitely want to make a big fruit salad at some point too. Check out some inspiration on my Summer Pinterest board here!

Drink

Similarly, I also love fruity drinks during the summer months. Something I really enjoyed is the Rekordelig Mango & Raspberry Cider. It is the perfect fruity drink to have on a warm summer evening, this flavour is probably my favourite but they have some others to choose from too so I definitely would recommend them if you're looking for a new summery drink!

Beauty

I haven't really been using any new beauty products this month, a lot of the time I haven't worn make up as it is just too hot! However, I have enjoyed using the bath duo from the brand 'Hugg' that I got for my birthday this year. Both the bath soak and body lotion leave my skin feeling so soft and it smells amazing too, plus how cute is the packaging!

Like always, I'd love to know what you enjoyed over July as it is always interesting to hear and is a great way to try something new out. I'm sure I'll be back again soon writing the next monthly favourites haha!

BLOGMAS: CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE

Christmas is approaching so today I thought I'd share my gift guide to hopefully give you inspiration for the people you are buying for this year. I am going to do a combination of gifts for her, gifts for him and then gifts for anyone!  Knitted Jumper - Perfect for this time of the year and something most people would appreciate. Head over to Asos for a huge selection!  Jacket - Another one that is useful for the colder weather, personally I'd like a denim jacket this Christmas but you could also go for a leather, smarter or bomber jacket. Have a look on Topshop for some inspiration!        Image via: Topshop  Shirt - This is definitely something I know my Dad would appreciate and would be a great present if you tend to dress smarter on Christmas day! There are some great choices at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.  Slippers - Another ideal gift for this time of the year and so cosy,  Next  have some great ones! ...

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
