DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

2 YEARS OF BLOGGING!

As of today, I've officially been blogging for 2 years which seems so strange to say! I feel like I've shared a fair amount but thought I would do a get to know me better post as it's a bit of fun!

Favourite film?

I can never seem to choose just one favourite but I'm pretty into mystery thriller type films - especially ones with a twist! For instance, I love things like Shutter Island and Inception, anything that keeps you guessing or has an ambiguous ending. I also enjoy a good comedy, one that springs to mind is Hot Fuzz as it also has that twist element.

What is my Zodiac sign and do I agree with it?

Well, I was born on March 10th, making me a Pisces. I wouldn’t say I’m overly clued up about horoscopes and astrology, I do find it interesting though! In terms of me relating to the general description of a Pisces, there are some aspects that describe me well for sure. In particular, the creative, charismatic, intuitive and adaptable traits describe me pretty well. As do the indecisive and prone to procrastination! However, Pisces is often said to be the most sensitive and emotional sign and whilst I can totally empathise with people, I’m a lot more resilient, chilled and level headed than the typical Pisces is described as!

What is my MBTI and do I agree with it?

This is something I’ve looked into more closely recently and had trouble fully relating to one specific personality type. I do think the closest to me would be ENFP - I’ve done a few quizzes and have gotten this the most! Looking at the page on 16 Personalities, the general description and strengths fit me. For instance: being curious, creative, imaginative, enthusiastic and friendly. Besides the indecisiveness and being very independent, the weaknesses don’t especially fit with what I’d describe as my personality or ‘flaws’. They mention being highly emotional, easily stressed and having poor practical skills which I don’t think describes me particularly. There are other types that also fit me reasonably well and some of the weakness resemble me better for sure! (ISTP being reserved, ESTP being impatient and INFJ being perfectionists)

Favourite food?

Okay so this is a really hard one, but I'd have to say pasta or Mexican dishes - particularly tacos or anything I can have salsa with, to be honest. I’m definitely more of a savoury person but give me some chocolate and I’m also very happy!

If I could travel to one place, where would I go?

Since I want to visit and explore as many places as possible, I could probably give multiple answers here. However, I think my top choice would be Bora Bora as it looks insanely beautiful but unfortunately is very expensive!

Favourite season?

These questions are certainly highlighting how indecisive I am as once again, I don’t have a favourite. There are aspects of them all I like but I think it’s a toss-up between Spring (I love the flowers & warmer weather but with a breeze) or Winter (Christmas is my favourite time of the year & I love snow).

Did I enjoy school?

I always really liked school as I enjoyed learning and was lucky to have classes with people that I always got on with! I also liked the majority of my teachers so looked forward to going each day at both Primary and Secondary school!

Favourite social media platform?

I think I’d have to say Twitter, it’s the one I use most regularly and I just prefer the whole dynamic of it. I like the fact that you always have a balance of text, photos, videos etc. It’s really the best place to literally share whatever and I’ve found it's the easiest platform to connect with people!

What period of time would you travel to?

I feel like this would be a common choice, but the 1920s for sure. I love the whole aesthetic, music and luxurious/rebellious lifestyle that is often portrayed and just think it would be so interesting to experience!

Favourite music artist?

I wouldn't say I have an all-time favourite artist, it very much depends on what I'm in the mood for. Bastille is definitely my favourite band though, I've always enjoyed their music and am currently loving their new album Doom Days.

Hopefully, you found these questions interesting and liked having more of an insight into my personality and preferences! I enjoy reading posts like these and it was a fun one to write too, feel free to let me know your answers to them as well! Here’s to another year of blogging!

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
