DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

QUICK CATCH UP

Well, it’s definitely been a while, in fact, this is the longest I’ve not posted on here! I wanted to come back with a post talking about what I’ve been up to and why I’ve not posted for a bit.

There isn’t a big reason, I think it’s mostly because I’ve been dedicating a lot of my time to my Creative Arts degree. I actually have to upload my work to a blog and since I’ve been trying to work consistently and maintain that, I ended up neglecting this one sadly!

Another contributing factor is the fact that I wasn’t feeling too inspired with new creative ideas for this blog and didn’t want to write for the sake of it. Also, we all need to take a break sometimes!

So, what have I been up to recently? Well as I said, a lot of my time goes into studying. I feel pretty productive and so far it’s going well as I’m making a lot of progress. I’m actually really enjoying learning and developing my knowledge again!

Something I've been trying to improve for a while now is my sleeping pattern, I've never been someone who finds it easy to sleep and don't think I will be but I definitely wanted to try to get into a routine of some sort. I wouldn't say my sleep habits are perfect now but I'm not up gone 4am every night so that's progress! I actually think I might do a whole post talking about the different things that can help improve your sleep routine! Alongside with better habits, I've tried to incorporate more exercise into my week too, I find myself getting bored if I do the same thing so I'm always looking to try new ways to improve my fitness!

I also recently went away to Northumberland for a week with my family at the end of August. It was really nice to get away and visit a new area and we were really lucky with the weather so I spent a lot of time outside! Since we were so close to the border I was able to take a tonne of photos too which I always enjoy, especially experimenting with the camera I got for Christmas! Not that I'm not complaining, but how are we already approaching this Christmas!? Since this is just a catch-up post I'll save all the holiday details for a separate post!

Here are a few of photos I took whilst I was away, I'll be posting a lot in an upcoming post!

It feels good to write on this blog again and I'm looking forward to posting more regularly. I'm not going to put any pressure on how regularly I post as I know I need to focus on my uni work but I'm excited to start some Autumn content!

  1. Beautiful pictures! You're right everyone needs a break. Welcome back and good luck with school!

  2. I can definitely relate to school taking priority over my own blogging schedule, my last year at university was probably the most random uploading schedule! I also feel the same with writing blog posts, if I’m not 100% on the post idea or am not inspired enough then I won’t just write for the sake of writing, I’d rather wait for inspiration to hit than not be passionate about what I’m writing - taking a break can really help with inspiration!

Exercise during the week is such a game changer, I always feel a lot more energized after a workout, though have to make sure I get enough sleep or else the workout isn’t going to be done at 100%!

Your photos look amazing, you look like you had an amazing time in nature!

BLOGMAS: CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE

Christmas is approaching so today I thought I'd share my gift guide to hopefully give you inspiration for the people you are buying for this year. I am going to do a combination of gifts for her, gifts for him and then gifts for anyone!  Knitted Jumper - Perfect for this time of the year and something most people would appreciate. Head over to Asos for a huge selection!  Jacket - Another one that is useful for the colder weather, personally I'd like a denim jacket this Christmas but you could also go for a leather, smarter or bomber jacket. Have a look on Topshop for some inspiration!        Image via: Topshop  Shirt - This is definitely something I know my Dad would appreciate and would be a great present if you tend to dress smarter on Christmas day! There are some great choices at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.  Slippers - Another ideal gift for this time of the year and so cosy,  Next  have some great ones! ...

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
