DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

15 QUESTIONS OF CHRISTMAS TAG

I love any sort of tag post but a festive one is even better. A big thank you to Anna-Alina for tagging me, you can check out her post here!

Christmas tree. Real or fake? Is a Christmas tree a must-have for winter holidays and creating the Christmas atmosphere or is it not necessary for you?

I love going to pick out our Christmas tree each year, we usually get it around the start of December so it marks the official start of the Christmas season for me. I think fake trees can look great but I'd miss the smell of a real one!

Holiday drinks. Coca Cola, eggnog or hot chocolate? Or maybe something different? What you drink on Christmas?

Definitely hot chocolate, I tried Costa's Chocolate Orange one recently which was great! We always make hot chocolate on Christmas Eve whilst watching a Christmas film so it always makes me feel super festive.

What are your own Christmas traditions?

One tradition I enjoy is getting new pyjamas on Christmas eve and I also love playing board games during the Christmas period!

Snow or no snow? Is snow necessary for you to have a Christmas mood? Do you have snow in your town in the winter holidays?

We rarely have snow at Christmas so it's not necessary to my mood, however, I wish we did as it would definitely feel even more Christmassy!

Do you like to stay Home on Christmas or to travel during the winter holidays?

Other than visiting local family, I've always spent Christmas at home so that's definitely what I'm used to. I'd love to travel to somewhere snowy and spend Christmas in a cabin one year! It would also be really interesting to experience Christmas somewhere warm as I'm sure it feels very different!

Christmas fairy lights. Multicolour or warm white (yellow)?

I definitely prefer warm white lights but we used to use coloured lights when I was younger so they also make me feel nostalgic.

Your top 3 must-watch every Christmas?

Elf is my ultimate must-watch for sure! I also love The Santa Clause as it makes me feel nostalgic and Miracle on 34th Street is up there with my favourites too. It's hard to choose just 3 as I love Christmas films!

Ginger cookies or sugar cookies? Or you're not ''a cookie person''?

I'd have to say that chocolate chip cookies are my favourites, especially homemade ones!

Do you prefer to watch Christmas movies or listen to Christmas music on holidays?
That's a hard one, it wouldn't feel like Christmas without them both! I think I started listening to Christmas music in September this year and had already watched over 20 Christmas films in November!

Must-have meals for your festive dinner?

We have the traditional Christmas Dinner and my favourite part is definitely the pigs in blankets or the trifle that I always make for dessert. Besides that, we don't really have any dinner traditions, just a lot of leftovers and snacks!

Do you wear ''ugly'' sweaters, fancy dresses, or pyjamas?

I always wear pyjamas while opening presents and then get dressed before eating Christmas lunch. I definitely don't go all out though, if I've been gifted a top or jumper then I'll usually wear that!

An angel or a star as the decoration for the top of your Christmas tree? What looks better and cosier?

We prefer a star at the top of our tree but I know some people love angels and it can look lovely!

Decorate early or decorate on December 23?

I like to get our tree and decorate as close to December 1st as possible, I like to have the decorations up for the whole Christmas period!

Do you celebrate New Year Eve?

I don't do anything too special, just some drinks and snacks. Sometimes we'll play a board game or watch a film as well!

What the best thing about Christmas?

I just love the whole build-up to Christmas! From decorating, gift planning and wrapping to the Christmas films, music, cosy days and food. Christmas is definitely my favourite time of the year!

Thank you again for the tag, the questions were great fun to think about! I tag anyone who'd like to share their answers too!

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
