DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS 2020

I know this year was very different for everyone and some of your plans will have been completely ruined but I hope you were able to enjoy Christmas as best you can. Despite living in a tier 2 area, I spent Christmas at home with my immediate family which isn't much different from most years. We'd usually visit family in the days after but obviously haven't been able to this year, I'm lucky to have had a relatively normal Christmas though.

I've seen a lot of people feeling unsure about posting what they got for Christmas this year, but generally, it seems people want as much normality with content as possible. I'm also very grateful for the gifts I received!

I actually treated myself to a new laptop as my old one stopped working earlier in the year. Since I've just applied to new university courses it was definitely a worthwhile purchase and I put some money I recieved for Chrismas towards it!

Usually my grandparents will give me money so I can buy things I need/want. Clothes are always useful gifts since they'll last me ages! This year I got some black mom jeans and a pink sweatshirt with some of the money my relatives kindly gave me. I also got a green striped top, if anyone knows me you'll know thats not a surprise! Also, like every year, we got new pyjamas and I chose a light pink/beige loungewear set which is so cosy! Oh and I got some fluffy socks because what's Christmas without fluffy socks!

I recieved a few skincare bits which I'm looking forward to trying out and a bamboo toothbrush which I got last year and really liked. Another useful gift were my sleep headphones, I don't tend to wear them all night but I like watching things in bed and eaprhones can get uncomfortable so these have been very handy! However, the gift I might have used most is a super soft blanket, it's been so cold recently so this has been perfect in the evenings!

I'm definitely a simple jewellery wearer so this necklace suits my style well and I was pleased to have something new to wear on Christmas day. We often get a new board game each year too as we always play them in the evening. This year we got Richard Osman's House of Games, which is my favourite tv quiz show so was very eager to play it! I'd recommend giving it a watch on iPlayer if you've not seen it before, it's a bit different to general trivia shows and the various rounds are a lot of fun!

Other bits I recieved were a resuable water bottle, a mug, a Pub Quiz card game, a Winter Spice diffuser (which smells like Christmas), a 2021 diary and of course, some chocolate!

Once again, I'm very grateful to all my family for the presents I recieved and for being able to enjoy Christmas together. I'd love to know what your favourite gifts were too

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
