DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

10 CHILDHOOD SNACKS I'D BRING BACK

I was talking with my family recently about snacks that have been discontinued in the U.K and have come up with a list of things I would love to see back on our shelves! Admittedly most of these are chocolate but that's only because there were so many to choose from!

1) Mingles - These are at the top of my list because these were my absolute favourite to have at Christmas time. Bendick's still do some minty alternatives but I'm sorry, why were these ever taken away?!

2) Calippo Shots - As a child this would always be my choice when the sun decided to show itself. Everyone I knew would also see how quickly they could eat them which almost always ended in brain freeze! I was surprised to see they had been discontinued though.

3) Mars Delight - I'm pretty sure these were never around long anyway but I would still love to have another. It was just a much lighter and crispier version than an actual Mars Bar, and sometimes that's exactly what you need.

4) Panda Pops - Terrible for you but also so good. I'm pretty sure these were discontinued due to how much rubbish they had in them but boy do they make me think of my childhood! The cherry flavour was always my favourite.

5) Cadbury Yowies - A lot 'of people don't remember these but they were originally Australian (came to the UK in early 2000s) and came in foil packaging with one of the 'Yowie characters' on. Inside was a hollow chocolate figure, small collectable toy and a message about saving the environment. I love these growing up and I was so pleased to hear that they might be making a comeback in Australia - I'll have to get my hands on one!

6) Flake Snow - Now I wouldn't say that I am absolutely gutted about these but I would definitely be interested in giving them a try again. It's pretty self explanatory but essentially it is a white Flake, covered in Cadbury's normal milk chocolate.

7) Aqua Drops - I had honestly forgotten about how nice these were until recently. They came in a handy little pot and were green and white apple sweets. Again probably not great for you but I loved to have one during car journeys.

8) Galaxy Truffle - Remember these? I was so shocked when I realised that Celebrations didn't feature these anymore! They were never my favourite but I still enjoyed them, especially around Christmas time!

9) Cadbury Snaps - Think Pringles but chocolate. I wouldn't say they were the best thing Cadbury ever did but they were always great to snack on. You know how you can eat your way through a tube or Pringles without realising it? Well these are the same and I would love to try them again for sure. You can get some knock of versions I think, but nothing compares to Cadbury, does it!

10) Cadbury Dream - I'm not a real lover of white chocolate but I did like to have these every so often. In my opinion Cadbury does the best chocolate. So a white chocolate alternative to their Dairy Milk, and I know some people who prefer white over milk chocolate so I'm surprised they got rid of it!

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
