DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

WHAT'S IN MY BAG?

Since I have always enjoyed watching the 'What's in my bag' videos on YouTube, I thought why not do it myself on here! I don't necessarily always carry around a bag with me but these are the items I would say are my essentials!

1) Phone - So obviously I always have my phone with me, I currently have the iPhone 6 with a white marble case. Had to use the phone to take the image but you can see my case which I had to carefully pull off without scratching the actual phone to pieces (why do they do that?)
2) Purse/Wallet - Another important item is of course your money and I have mine in this handy little mint green wallet that has an extra big compartment for your phone as well. Plus it was not expensive at all so that is also a bonus!
3) Lip balm - There is nothing I hate more than feeling like you have dry lips and not having any lip balm, so I never leave the house without it nowadays. There are hundreds of different brands but Vaseline is always a winner, the Rosy Lips one also adds a bit of subtle colour too, 2 in 1!
4) Gum - I feel like everyone has gum in their bags yet if someone takes theirs out, suddenly a crowd builds up because they conveniently have 'run out'! But yes, I do also like to have gum with me, Extra is probably my most common choice but I like to vary the flavour!
5) Hairbrush, hairband & pin - Essentials for most people with long hair, especially in England when you spend ages doing your hair just go out and for it to start drizzling...cue the frizz!!! So I just have this simple paddle brush along with a hairband and pin if needed.
6) Earphones - When you're out and about it's always useful to have earphones so you can listen to music, videos, podcasts, audio books or whatever you fancy really! Especially if you're travelling or doing something active! I use the Apple earphone that came with my phone but use whatever is most comfortable for you!
7) Portable charger - I mainly have this for when I'm going out for long periods of time, especially if I know I'm going to be using my phone a lot to take pictures or whatever. There's nothing worse than having your phone die on you, especially when one minute you're on 60% and the next it has dropped suddenly down to 20%! I wouldn't say this portable charger is top quality as it was from Amazon for under £10 but it does the job!
8) Mascara - I don't tend to carry around all the make up products I use as I feel like it tends to stay on my face fairly well, however I occasionally do like to touch up my mascara a bit as it wears of and my lashes seem less full during the day. Mine is just one from Rimmel but I'm sure we all have our go to brands.
9) Perfume - This Ted Baker perfume is the perfect size for a bag when you want a quick spritz on the go, it smells fab and always stays in my bag. I got it in a gift set so I'm dreading when it runs out but maybe I'll get some more around Christmas!
10) Pen & notebook - I wouldn't say this is vital or always in my bag but I have always been someone that likes writing lists, notes, ideas or just various doodles so I do like to have them handy. I recently purchased this lined one from Tesco in a minty green colour which was literally like £2 so a complete bargain - however I do intend to pick up a larger plain paper one at some point so I can get back into sketching & painting at some point.
11) Hand cream - I always like the idea of hand cream and I have a variety of different ones in my drawer from the likes of Ted Baker, Cath Kidston, Soap and Glory etc. but I don't ever enjoy the feeling of having something on my hands and despite knowing it will rub in, I end up washing it off. However now the colder months are approaching I am determined to start using it more often to keep my hands feeling much softer and in better condition. So I'd say this is a new addition to my bag!
12) A little mirror like this is perfect for when you want a quick touch up or have that horrible feeling that there's your hair is stuck up in a funny way and there's something on your face, even though most of the time you still look exactly the same as you did before you left the house 5 minutes ago! Anyway I like to be able to whip one out needed, either that or the front camera on a phone is also a great alternative!

I'd love to know what any of you guys reading have in your bags and if you have a similar list to mine. I feel like some bags end up being an endless container of items and when you get to having a sort out it's like you've turned into Mary Poppins with the amount of things that fit!

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
