DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

OCTOBER MONTHLY FAVOURITES

Happy November everyone! I sort of feel like I spend this entire month counting down the days until December as I'm a lover of Christmas but I'm looking forward to the weather getting crisper. October seems to have flown by but here are some of my favourites from the month!

Food - Not the healthiest option but I love to snack on some Sensations Poppadoms whilst watching some Netflix. I had eaten the Lime and Coriander Chutney ones multiple times, however recently I had the Mango and Red Chilli flavour and I have to say I am a big fan of both! The poppadoms are a nice change from your conventional bag of crisps and I love both flavour combinations. I usually share them with my boyfriend and we always end up racing through them!

Music - After taking time off to write music I was so glad to see that Sam Smith had released new music. Technically 'Too Good at Goodbyes' was actually released in September but I've been loving it throughout October, as well as 'Pray'. I'm also enjoying listening to the rest of his new album - The Thrill Of It All, which was released today! You can order it now and let me know which is your favourite!

TV - As a Brit I feel like its compulsory to watch The Great British Bake Off and I love everything about it. It's such a great show to watch in the evening with friends or family and I am so glad that this series was just a good! I was a bit sceptical due to all the changes but I really liked both Noel and Sandy as presenters and Prue as a judge alongside Paul, obviously it does seem a little odd without Mary, Mel and Sue but this series still had all the things I love about Bake Off! Yesterdays final definitely had the right outcome I think - Sophie was strong and consistent throughout, however I must say, like many others on Twitter, I definitely wanted to Liam to have been a finalist and was gutted when he went out!

Fashion - Ankle boots are an absolute staple for Autumn and I have been wearing mine all the time! They look great with a pair of jeans or you can also go for a smarter look and wear them with a skirt or dress, I absolutely love that they are so easy to wear and look great with different outfits. Mine are also really comfy which is great if you're walking about, plus you can wear thicker socks just to be extra toasty in the chilly weather! My ankle boots are a suede black material, unfortunately you can't get the exact pair anymore but here are some great alternatives on Amazon.

Beauty - I always use Rimmel for their foundations and have done for years now, I just love the finish and they are so affordable too! Recently I've been using Rimmel Lasting Finish in the colour Ivory, I'd say it has slightly higher coverage than the Match Perfection and Wake Me Up foundations which is perfect for the colder months or for when you have more blemishes to cover up. There are so many different brands that do foundation nowadays so why not rediscover your love for high street brands like Rimmel!

App - I talked about the Notebook app in my '5 Must Have Apps' post but I had to put it in my favourites as I have been loving it! It's such a creative way to stay organised and I use it to plan future blog posts which is something I've been meaning to get into! I have mine all colour coded and you can also add audio, images, text, lists, sketches or other documents. It's such a life saver when you're out and about if you think of a great blog post as you can quickly add a new post to come back to later!

Let me know what you were loving throughout October!

Head over to Asos for a huge selection!  Jacket - Another one that is useful for the colder weather, personally I'd like a denim jacket this Christmas but you could also go for a leather, smarter or bomber jacket. Have a look on Topshop for some inspiration!        Image via: Topshop  Shirt - This is definitely something I know my Dad would appreciate and would be a great present if you tend to dress smarter on Christmas day! There are some great choices at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.  Slippers - Another ideal gift for this time of the year and so cosy,  Next  have some great ones! ...

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
