DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

FEBRUARY MONTHLY FAVOURITES

So January took forever but I blinked and February was basically over! Although I’m pretty glad about that as March is my birthday month so it’s always one I look forward to! However, before I start thinking about that I thought I’d go through some things I enjoyed throughout the last month.

Beauty

I was recently sent a couple of product samples which were a lovely thing to receive in the post! The first being a Rituals Shower Oil which has a really calming scent and I'm looking forward to using it. Also, I was gifted two small perfume samples - the Black Opium Intense from Yves Saint Laurent and the Yes I Am from Cacharel. I always like to try out new fragrances and am really pleased to have been given these samples!

Weather

We’ve had some pretty interesting weather recently, firstly with the snow that we had at the start of the month. I really love the cold weather and was looking forward to taking some snowy photos with my camera so was definitely pleased when I got that opportunity! Towards the end of the month, the sun really showed itself and we had some pretty nice days. The sunny weather always cheers people up so I can’t help but like it, though it is a bit of a worry to have such warm weather in February.

Fashion

I didn’t really buy anything new over the last month besides some joggers from Primark and I had to talk about them because I have been living in them recently. There’s nothing better than putting on something comfy after a long day and I’d heard great things about the Primark joggers and at £5 I had to pick some up. I have also been wearing some chunkier style brown boots, they were ideal during the colder weather and I also think they can make a pretty interesting outfit when it is warmer out too. They were actually my Mum's but she didn't get on with them and I couldn't let them go to waste! (Both the boots and joggers are pictured above in my snow images)

TV

I finally got around to watching Gilmore Girls recently and I’m so annoyed I hadn’t watched it earlier, I binged the whole series and the additional 4 part special in a month! It also really made me want to live in a place like Stars Hollow, I loved the vibe and you’d definitely meet some interesting people! You can’t beat a great show with interesting characters that you can really get invested in and I thought it was a must watch!

Drink

With the weather improving recently I’ve started making iced coffees as they’re one of my favourite drinks and why spend the money buying it out and about when you can make one at home! It’s super quick and is a great pick me up in the morning, I feel like I need to experiment with flavours now though!

Film

I actually went to the cinema recently to watch the new How To Train Your Dragon film, it’s one of my youngest sisters favourites and to be honest I’ve always thought they were pretty decent films anyway! Another recent watch for me was A Simple Favor, which I’d seen the trailer of and unfortunately never got the chance to see at the cinema. It was full of twists and I love both Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick so I’d definitely recommend seeing it if you haven’t yet!

I hope that February was a good month for you, once again I'm very interested to hear what sort of things you've discovered and been loving recently!

Christmas is approaching so today I thought I'd share my gift guide to hopefully give you inspiration for the people you are buying for this year. I am going to do a combination of gifts for her, gifts for him and then gifts for anyone!  Knitted Jumper - Perfect for this time of the year and something most people would appreciate. Head over to Asos for a huge selection!  Jacket - Another one that is useful for the colder weather, personally I'd like a denim jacket this Christmas but you could also go for a leather, smarter or bomber jacket. Have a look on Topshop for some inspiration!        Image via: Topshop  Shirt - This is definitely something I know my Dad would appreciate and would be a great present if you tend to dress smarter on Christmas day! There are some great choices at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.  Slippers - Another ideal gift for this time of the year and so cosy,  Next  have some great ones! ...

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
