As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023! I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...
Well, March is always a busy month for me, with multiple birthdays that our family celebrate and I always find that I have more plans in general. Perhaps it's due to the start of spring and whenever there is the first glimpse of some nicer weather, people tend to get out more! Nonetheless, I thought I'd share some things I've enjoyed throughout the month.
We've had a few sunny days recently which tends to mean I go out more and despite not going to a garden centre for a least a few years, I've been to 4 in the last two weeks for various reasons. The first two times were just quick visits and then on Mother's Day we went to Porton Garden, Aquatics and Pets Centre and I did enjoy looking at the various animals, especially all the turtles as they're my favourite animal! We then went on to Wilton House Garden Centre as my Mum wanted to buy some different plants, I also decided that I definitely want to grow multiple fruits when I have my own house. Specifically raspberries, strawberries, nectarines, peaches and pink berries which are essentially blueberries as I'd not seen them before but they look pretty interesting!
I've definitely mentioned my birthday in my last couple of posts but I promise this is the last! As I said, March is a birthday month for our family - my sister being the first and then I also went to my cousin's 4th birthday party, which was noisy, to say the least! My Grandad and I have the same birthday so we usually have family come round at some point in the month to celebrate, it's also a great excuse for cake! On my actual birthday, I didn't exactly do anything wild, in fact, I went to Bournemouth for some shopping and Cream Tea! We went to Huckleberry's Kitchen and I had a delicious scone with a pot of tea before heading into some shops. I already mentioned the things I bought in my 'What I got For My Birthday' post if you'd like a read of that! It was really nice to just walk around Bournemouth too as I hadn't been for a while and then I finished off with tacos for dinner when I got back, a firm favourite of mine!
TV
I've finally gotten round to starting One Tree Hill and am already on series 4 so I guess you could say I'm enjoying it, I like to always have something with a decent amount of episodes that I can binge alongside other current shows so this is my pick at the moment. I also started and very quickly finished the new series of Queer Eye and have watched the first two episodes of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. As a huge fan of PLL I've been waiting for it and so far I am definitely intrigued!
Stationery
I actually had a £5 voucher to spend at Hobbycraft from my birthday and as I'm about to start an open degree, I picked up a few bits that will come in handy for that! They had a set on sale which contained various types of pens, including some coloured gel pens, as well as highlighters, pencils and black markers. I also got a set of mini colouring pencils as I thought they may come in handy if I'm ever doing work out and about and a small sketchbook which again would be really easy to carry in a bag and since I'm doing a Creative Arts degree I thought that might be helpful!
Homeware
For the last £1 of the Hobbycraft voucher, I decided to get a glass mason jar as I've been looking for one to have my iced coffees in for a while! I was also lucky enough to win a giveaway from Lacuna Candle a while back and received it during the start of the month. I chose the Peach Nectar and White Musk scent which I am definitely pleased about as it smells great and not too overwhelming either. The candle itself seems really good quality too so definitely check them out!
Is March a busy month for you too? Also, please let me know what things you've been enjoying recently as I'm always looking to discover something new! Hopefully, April brings some sun, though I got caught in a hailstorm today so who knows!
Looks like you've had a pretty great month!
ReplyDeleteMy bf loves turtles too! Love all your photos!
I know the feeling about needing more sunshine though, lets all hope for a brighter April!
Omg, I probably sound overly excited about this but I'm so happy you've started One Tree Hill! I grew up on that show, and it will always have a special place in my heart!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy the rest!
