DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

JANUARY MONTHLY FAVOURITES

Well, January seemed to last a lifetime, didn't it! I think it is because the Christmas period is always pretty fast paced and exciting so when we reach January the days just seem to drag. However, we have finally reached February so I thought I'd share some of my favourites from the last month.

Movie/Music - This wouldn't be a favourites post if I didn't mention The Greatest Showman now would it, and I have to say I have definitely enjoyed being a part of the hype! I finally went to see the movie a few weekends ago and it met my expectations for sure so I can't wait for it to be released properly so I can watch it again and again! Obviously, a huge part of any musical is the soundtrack and The Greatest Showman songs have been on repeat ever since. They are so catchy and you can't help but sing them, how amazing would it be to have a part in those performances! If you'd like to know more about my thoughts then you can check out the review I posted too!

Beauty - For Christmas, I received the Millie Mackintosh 'Deeply in Lustre' bronze and glow gift set, I'd never tried any of her products but I have really enjoyed trying it out. The palette is perfect for a natural beauty look and comes with a combination of gorgeous but subtle highlighter and blush shades. It also contains a warm toned bronzer and a brush that is so easy to use and blend with! This would be perfect for travelling as its so portable and you have multiple products in one place, I'd also recommend it to someone who is just experimenting or new to make up as it creates such a subtle but healthy bronzed look.

Food - I haven't really been loving any new foods this month, but I have been obsessed with Pink Lady apples. Don't ask me why but I always have one in the evening when I'm a bit peckish, I often find that apples are a hit or miss and it's always so disappointing when you have a bad one. However recently I've been opting for a trusty Pink Lady and haven't had a poor one yet, fingers crossed it stays that way!

TV - My boyfriend and I have recently started watching The Good Doctor and it is definitely a series I would recommend! Freddie Highmore is always a great actor but his performance as Dr Sean Murphy - a surgical resident with autism and savant syndrome, is spectacular. I'm not usually one to enjoy medical dramas, however, the emotion and depth of the plot, as well as a fantastic cast has made it a series I hope will continue for multiple seasons.

Creativity - One of my goals this year is to start experimenting with different creative outlets and over the past month I have really enjoyed trying out calligraphy. I've always loved art and typography has been something I've enjoyed experimenting with so I was keen to learn calligraphy. I'm still in the early stages but it is a great pastime, it's also really interesting to try out different styles on my graphic tablet, as well as doing it by hand. The brush pens and watercolour paints I got for Christmas have been perfect for this! You can see one of my quick practices, inspired by the 'Autumn in November' font, on my tablet in the image above!

I feel like, because this month felt twice as long, I've probably forgotten some favourites! Let me know down below what you've been enjoying.

BLOGMAS: CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE

Christmas is approaching so today I thought I'd share my gift guide to hopefully give you inspiration for the people you are buying for this year. I am going to do a combination of gifts for her, gifts for him and then gifts for anyone!  Knitted Jumper - Perfect for this time of the year and something most people would appreciate. Head over to Asos for a huge selection!  Jacket - Another one that is useful for the colder weather, personally I'd like a denim jacket this Christmas but you could also go for a leather, smarter or bomber jacket. Have a look on Topshop for some inspiration!        Image via: Topshop  Shirt - This is definitely something I know my Dad would appreciate and would be a great present if you tend to dress smarter on Christmas day! There are some great choices at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.  Slippers - Another ideal gift for this time of the year and so cosy,  Next  have some great ones! ...

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...
