DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

WHAT I GOT FOR MY BIRTHDAY

As you may know from my previous post, it was my birthday recently and as I always enjoy reading what gifts other people received, I thought I would share mine too! As I get older I find it increasingly harder to decide what I actually want so I'm so grateful for everything I did get!

Bath Set

One of my presents from my sisters was this bath set from the Scandinavian brand Hugg. Little sets like this one are the ideal birthday gift for when you don't want anything in particular and I've never used anything from them so I'm excited to try it out! I also think the packaging is so pretty, it's pretty minimalistic but that's definitely the sort of thing I'm into at the moment. The set contains a 100ml bath soak and body lotion and is only £8 in Waitrose at the moment!

Diffuser

My sisters also gave me a diffuser from Fired Earth in the scent Assam and White Cedar. I'd never heard of this brand before but I absolutely love their packaging and the product itself looks really sophisticated. The scent is so gorgeous, it would also work really well as a perfume, it is fairly citrusy as it also has notes of grapefruit but there is definitely a depth to it with the assam and white cedar. If I walked into a house smelling of this I would definitely want to know what it was!

Shower Gel Set

My boyfriend's family also got me a few bits, including this Neal's Yard Revitalise Shower Gel set. I'm a sucker for mini things like this, they're so handy for travel and most of all, they just look cute! The 4 different scents are all gorgeous, my favourite would have to be the Rosemary and Elderflower. Each bottle is 50ml so you get a fair amount of product and I love the packaging!

Deodorant

They also got me a deodorant fragrance spray from the brand Weleda. Again I'd never tried anything of theirs so I was pretty intrigued by it. This particular one is in the 'Wild Rose' scent, though I know they do a few others too! I really like floral smells and this definitely resembles a rose, I'm also a fan of the spray bottle itself - being glass it just seems more luxury than your average deodorant! You can get it from Amazon here.

London Trip

My main present, from my boyfriend, was a trip to London. We travelled up on the day before my birthday, stayed in a beautiful hotel that night and then spent my birthday there too! I had the best couple of days and we really made the most of our time there, travelling all over the city to experience different things! If you want to read about what we got up to then please head over to my last post where I went into much more detail! This was really the perfect sort of present for me this year -  I love London and spending time doing so many great things with my boyfriend is my idea of a fab birthday!

Top

I also received this top from Topshop, it's a sort of cropped fit with frilling on the sleeves and neckline but what I love most are the stripes! I must own so many striped tops because they're so simple but can really make an outfit! Navy stripes are always one of my go-to colours and I can't wait to pair this with different outfits!

PlayStation VR

So as well as going above and beyond by taking me to London, my boyfriend also splashed out and bought me the PlayStation VR set. I've always enjoyed different consoles and virtual reality is something that I've wanted to try for ages so when I opened this I was so excited! Presents like this are brilliant because it's not just you that benefits from it. My family and I all played it together, taking it in turns to try it out and there are so many games that lots of people can get involved with so it is definitely something I know I'll keep going back to!

Converse

White Converse have been a staple in my wardrobes for years now and mine were definitely well loved, so much so that they began to look a bit worse for wear! I decided it was time to get a new pair and asked my parents for some! They go with pretty much every outfit so I know I'll be wearing them constantly, gifts that you can get loads of use out of are always the best aren't they!

Money

The majority of my relatives gave me money this year, firstly because I didn't know what else I wanted and it's much easier to save it for when I find something I really want. Although I enjoy opening wrapped gifts, I do think it is useful to have the option to pick out something yourself, rather than getting something for the sake of it! However, I'm also saving up to travel as well so this money will most likely be kept for that anyway!

Chocolate

Now here is a gift that I could never say no to, chocolate is a no-brainer when it comes to giving me (and a lot of people) a gift! My parents got me a Swiss Praline Assortment, normally boxes of chocolates contain bits I like and then bits I really don't like at all - anything with strawberry in is disgusting, controversial I know! However, I am a massive lover of praline so this is the perfect box for me! They also got me a 360g of Toblerone which I also love and haven't had for ages, so I can't wait to dig into that!

I'm obviously really pleased with everything I got, and so grateful for it all! I definitely had a great birthday, despite not feeling any different at all - but then whoever does!

BLOGMAS: CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE

Christmas is approaching so today I thought I'd share my gift guide to hopefully give you inspiration for the people you are buying for this year. I am going to do a combination of gifts for her, gifts for him and then gifts for anyone!  Knitted Jumper - Perfect for this time of the year and something most people would appreciate. Head over to Asos for a huge selection!  Jacket - Another one that is useful for the colder weather, personally I'd like a denim jacket this Christmas but you could also go for a leather, smarter or bomber jacket. Have a look on Topshop for some inspiration!        Image via: Topshop  Shirt - This is definitely something I know my Dad would appreciate and would be a great present if you tend to dress smarter on Christmas day! There are some great choices at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.  Slippers - Another ideal gift for this time of the year and so cosy,  Next  have some great ones! ...

MARCH MONTHLY FAVOURITES

March is always a pretty busy time, it's known as the 'birthday month' in our family because between the 1st and 21st, 7 of us have celebrated our birthdays! This means that there is a lot of family time, a lot of presents and a lot of cake which is a pretty good mix - plus there are loads of things I've been loving this month so I'll get started! Weather Something I had to mention in this monthly favourites was the rather strange weather we had! We'd not had any decent snow since 2013 and then we had multiple snow days in March, so I think it's fair to say that Spring was delayed! I actually really like the snow, it's so amazing to look out at, especially when it is untouched! Although I did slip over on the ice, straight on my back...so that wasn't as great! Fashion  This month I have worn my denim jacket constantly, I don't know how I've lived without one for so long! Besides the random snow days, we've definitely had...

1 YEAR OF BLOGGING!

I did it, a whole year of blogging! I'm so glad that I stuck at it because I enjoy it so much and can't believe how much progress I've made with it all. Not only that, but I've connected to so many people all around the world which is just amazing, I can't wait to see what the next year working on my blog brings! Anyway, here is a sum up of my blogging journey so far. What I've achieved - Just over 50 posts which is equal to roughly 1 per week, and I'm definitely pleased with that! I started off slow and could have probably done a lot more but at least I've got something to work towards! - Hit 1.5k+ followers on my blog Twitter account and also had 30.5k impressions in my best month - Reached 200+ followers on my blog Instagram account after starting to properly use it in May - Had 2562 viewers on Pinterest in one day and an average of around 1000 - Over 9000 pageviews, the fact that I'm on the way to 10,000 blows my mind! -...
