DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

BLOGMAS: CHRISTMAS THIS OR THAT

I feel like everyone has certain preferences and traditions about what makes Christmas, the Christmas they know and love, so I thought I'd incorporate that into a 'this or that' post!

Real or fake tree?

I love having a real tree, they smell so Christmassy and we got ours this weekend!

Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

It has to be Christmas Day for me, it's my favourite day of the year because it's all so much fun! Also, you can't beat Christmas Dinner, can you! Though I do love the whole build up so this was a hard one.

Open presents all at once or spread out?

Ever since I was little we've always done it all at once! It's so exciting, I don't think I could wait and spread it out through the day, haha!

Eggnog or hot chocolate?

Hot chocolate is my go-to drink around this time of the year so this is an easy one for me. A classic hot chocolate or I also enjoy peppermint, chocolate orange and cinnamon flavoured ones too.

Tree ornaments or lights?

I feel like a tree isn't complete without either, but I really like how pretty the lights look so I'll have to go with that!

Indoor or outdoor decorations?

Ooh, I do like seeing everyone's outdoor decorations but it's got to be inside for me. I can't wait to decorate our house, it makes me feel so festive!

Elf or Home Alone?

Home Alone is great but Elf. All day, every day!! It's my favourite Christmas film by far!

Gingerbread or Christmas cookies?

Hmm, I much prefer chocolate than biscuits but I think I'll go with gingerbread on this one.

Wake up early or sleep in?

Wake up early of course, so you have as much of the day to enjoy everything!

Sweet or savoury Christmas snacks?

Now this is a tough one because there are so many options for both, but I could eat my favourite savoury Christmas snacks all day without feeling sick, so it will have to be that!

Star or Angel?

Star for me, we used to have an angel on the top of our tree when I was younger but we've had a star for years now and I really like it.

Christmas jumper or pyjamas?

I'm all for Christmas jumpers but I'm obsessed with wearing a cosy pair of festive pyjamas in the evenings. Also, we've had a tradition in our house to get a new pair on Christmas Eve each year so I think that's part of why I'd choose it over a jumper!

Roast potatoes or Yorkshire Puddings?

Possible controversial one here, but I would have to go with Yorkshire Puddings, I just love them with gravy poured over!

Chocolate Advent Calendar or Gift Advent Calendar?

Always a classic chocolate one for me! I would like to have a gift based one as there are so many out there now but I do always look forward to the little chocolate every morning!

Red or green?

I love the dark green, Christmas tree colour but red makes me feel super festive so I'll have to go with that.

Coloured or white lights?

White, but specifically warm white. I just think they look so pretty and make the room look extra festive! Although, we did use to have coloured lights when I was growing up and that was pretty fun too!

Sprouts or no sprouts?

I'm a no sprouts person personally as I'm really not a fan of them, nothing against having them as part of the dinner but I just won't be putting them on my plate!

Songs or movies?

This is quite possibly the hardest to answer as both are a massive part of making me feel festive, I really couldn't imagine my Christmas without them! I genuinely think I could go round in circles and still never be able to pick one over the other!

Turkey or pigs in blankets?

Oh, pigs in blankets for sure. They're one of my favourite parts about Christmas dinner!

Christmas tree up early or late?

Early, I love how festive it makes the room feel! the 1st of December is my ideal date.

Mince pies or Yule log?

I've never been a fan of mince pies so I'll have to say yule log for this one, can't go wrong with chocolate and I love how they're decorated!

Stockings or no stockings?

Yes to stockings! I love them, especially hung up by the fireplace and I always found it so exciting to open up some smaller presents before the main ones.

Christmas in a hot or cold climate?

Oh, cold without a doubt and I'd love a proper white Christmas too!

This was a pretty fun post to actually and I'd love to know other people's choices, let me know on the comments or if you decide to do your own post!

  3. Love this post! I can't imagine waking up late on Christmas day, especially when younger it's so exciting! And I don't know how someone could spread out the presents across the day?! I can imagine it's quite good as it makes the day last, but also it must be really hard to not open them all at once!

BLOGMAS: CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE

Christmas is approaching so today I thought I'd share my gift guide to hopefully give you inspiration for the people you are buying for this year. I am going to do a combination of gifts for her, gifts for him and then gifts for anyone!  Knitted Jumper - Perfect for this time of the year and something most people would appreciate. Head over to Asos for a huge selection!  Jacket - Another one that is useful for the colder weather, personally I'd like a denim jacket this Christmas but you could also go for a leather, smarter or bomber jacket. Have a look on Topshop for some inspiration!        Image via: Topshop  Shirt - This is definitely something I know my Dad would appreciate and would be a great present if you tend to dress smarter on Christmas day! There are some great choices at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.  Slippers - Another ideal gift for this time of the year and so cosy,  Next  have some great ones! ...

MARCH MONTHLY FAVOURITES

March is always a pretty busy time, it's known as the 'birthday month' in our family because between the 1st and 21st, 7 of us have celebrated our birthdays! This means that there is a lot of family time, a lot of presents and a lot of cake which is a pretty good mix - plus there are loads of things I've been loving this month so I'll get started! Weather Something I had to mention in this monthly favourites was the rather strange weather we had! We'd not had any decent snow since 2013 and then we had multiple snow days in March, so I think it's fair to say that Spring was delayed! I actually really like the snow, it's so amazing to look out at, especially when it is untouched! Although I did slip over on the ice, straight on my back...so that wasn't as great! Fashion  This month I have worn my denim jacket constantly, I don't know how I've lived without one for so long! Besides the random snow days, we've definitely had...

1 YEAR OF BLOGGING!

I did it, a whole year of blogging! I'm so glad that I stuck at it because I enjoy it so much and can't believe how much progress I've made with it all. Not only that, but I've connected to so many people all around the world which is just amazing, I can't wait to see what the next year working on my blog brings! Anyway, here is a sum up of my blogging journey so far. What I've achieved - Just over 50 posts which is equal to roughly 1 per week, and I'm definitely pleased with that! I started off slow and could have probably done a lot more but at least I've got something to work towards! - Hit 1.5k+ followers on my blog Twitter account and also had 30.5k impressions in my best month - Reached 200+ followers on my blog Instagram account after starting to properly use it in May - Had 2562 viewers on Pinterest in one day and an average of around 1000 - Over 9000 pageviews, the fact that I'm on the way to 10,000 blows my mind! -...
