DISNEY, DUBLIN AND FESTIVAL FUN

As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023!  I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...

BLOGMAS: MY FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS MOVIES

There's nothing better than chilling with a warm blanket (hot chocolate and snacks at the ready) to watch a Christmas movie is there? This year I've made it my mission to watch as many as possible and have decided to make a list of my all time favourites and the classics that everyone needs to watch this Christmas.

A no brainer and my absolute favourite. Elf really is the perfect feel good movie to watch during the festive season and Buddy's love of Christmas is infectious. As a huge lover of Christmas I do feel like I relate to his passion for Christmas and personally think I would have made a great elf, should I have grown up in the North Pole - but hey, I guess that is one talent wasted! Without fail I will always watch this movie, usually multiple times because it never gets old and that is why I've had to put it at the top of this list!

Another one for the family and a true classic. The Grinch is a oddly lovable character and the adaption of Dr. Seuss' beloved story has become a Christmas movie tradition in its own right. Jim Carrey really brings the character to life and it is impossible not to get invested by the Grinch's journey into accepting Christmas again!

The intertwined stories and endless list of fantastic cast makes this Rom-Com a holiday favourite for many. With the perfect balance of humour, cheesiness and heart warming scenes, it captures the chaos of Christmas whilst delivering a sentimental message to spend time with the people you love at Christmas. Yes, it is your typical romantic comedy, cringy-ness and all, but really...what more could you want?!!

The 1994 version was actually the first Christmas movie I watched this year because I hadn't watched it for a couple years, plus I love Mara Wilson in it! It is essentially your typical Christmas movie plot where people are sceptical about the idea of Santa but it is one of the best I think. It's charming, well acted and this version stays true to the 1947 original. Tell you what though, I wish we had a Christmas parade like that where I lived, it's right up my street!!

I often find that people either really like this one or hate it, certainly in my house anyway. I have to admit, parts are a bit slow but I grew up watching this film and I still love to watch it! When I was younger I always secretly hoped I would hear the Polar Express train outside my house on Christmas Eve, it seemed so magical and exciting so as a young child obsessed with Christmas, it was the perfect movie!

This was another one I hadn't watched for a couple years, so I knew I had revisit it this year and my god did it make me feel nostalgic! When I was younger I'm pretty sure I based all my knowledge of what the North Pole was like on this film so it definitely brought back memories of that! Plus it's got some pretty funny bits and you can't go wrong with that can you!

There are so many versions of this classic Dickens tale but I do think the Muppet one is maybe my favourite. I wouldn't say that I'm the biggest Muppets fan normally but Michael Caine's Scrooge is perfect and the whole thing is hilarious! It has some iconic lines but still stays true to the traditional story, it's one of my Mum's favourites so I grew up watching it so it's sort of a part of Christmas now!

Another one that is a lot of peoples favourites and a part of many people's Christmas traditions. Personally I would say it isn't one of my absolute favourites but it is still so funny and a great laugh to watch. My favourite scene has to be Kevin's little White Christmas performance, amazing!!

Other favourites of mine include: A Wonderful Life, The Snowman and The Santa Clause 2&3

Now I know this list could go on and on but I thought I'd just share some of the Christmas classics that I have grown up watching and still love! I'd love to know what your favourite Christmas movie is!

HOW I USE NOTION - PRODUCTIVITY TOOL

At the beginning of 2021, I started using Notion and I wish I'd done sooner! It's a productivity/planning/organisation tool but can be used to store any information - from study notes to meal plans to finances and lists for pretty much anything you need. There are loads of tutorials on YouTube to help set up your Notion which I definitely used for inspiration, as well as tips and ideas on TikTok, These videos from Unjaded Jade , Twirling Pages , Om & The City helped me particularly! I've also added some quick videos of my Notion pages at the bottom of this post if you want to see what it looks like in use. This post isn't an ad but as you'll see pretty quickly, I'm a fan of Notion so far! App & Quick Notes Notion also has an app that is compatible with iOS 14 - this makes it even easier to access any daily to-do lists or whatever content you want to access quickly. I have a widget that takes me to my Notion homepage, it has links to any of my pages so I...

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

I never used to be a fan of Sundays, I just saw it as the end of the weekend and a reminder that the same weekly routine would begin again. Sunday's are often the more chilled day of the weekend and this makes it perfect for a sort of 'reset', and this can mean something different for everyone. You can do this anytime but I think it's natural to be in the mindset of making changes at the start or end of a week/month/year, but do whatever feels good for you! There are so many ways to reset, most of which involve slowing down (both mentally and physically) and focusing on yourself. I know that dedicating a whole day to this is a complete luxury but many of these things can be done in a small window of spare time, or alongside something else.  A vital part of a beneficial reset experience is self-care. There are many different forms of self-care and only you know what is best for you but here are some of my suggestions!  Get outside and going on a walk Have a bath Listen...

LOCKDOWN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Well, my 22nd birthday wasn't quite the Taylor Swift style celebration I had in mind but I still did a few things to celebrate!   My sister's birthday is a little over a week before mine so on the weekend between we set up an afternoon tea style lunch. I've seen a lot of people sharing their Afternoon Tea/Bridgerton inspired spreads recently and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. I'm very glad we decided to do before the weather turned as it rained all day on my actual birthday! We also played cards and a few board games which is always a great way to spend the evening in my opinion! If anyone is planning to set up their own afternoon tea then I know you can order hampers online which would make a great gift. Or like us, you can buy whatever you fancy! Here's a list of the things we had: scones jam clotted cream mini sausage rolls mini cheese & onion rolls strawberries raspberries chocolate cake coffee & walnut cake  biscuits pot of tea I was hopin...
