As the days get colder and the rain more frequent, I've found myself looking back through photos from the summer. I was lucky to have a very busy few months after finishing my first year of university and had the best time so I thought I'd do a recap of everything I got up to. Festivals I'd never been to a festival before and this year I went to 3! The first was The Isle of Wight Festival which was just amazing and I definitely think it's a festival for everyone to enjoy. We were able to see some amazing artists including Lewis Capaldi, Tom Grennan, The Kooks, Rudimental, Madness, Shaggy and so many more. I did end up burning myself really badly on the first day, despite frequently applying suncream but that was a small price to pay and I've already planned to go again in 2023! I also went to Boomtown which is a different kind of experience music wise but was so good to spend time with my boyfriend - Ryan and our friends. Also, the sets were incredible, and the eff...
Well, once again January has lasted twice as long as every other month does (seriously though, why does it always feel like that?) Anyway, I thought I'd share the things I've enjoyed during the start of 2019.
Creativity
After receiving a new camera for Christmas, I've enjoyed taking photos whenever I can. I definitely need to get out and about to test it properly but it's been great just experimenting! I'm really hoping that we get some good snow because I'd love to get some great photos of that, I always think it looks so pretty! However, if all else fails, you can always count on a good sunset for a perfect photo opportunity.
Food
I feel like I have to mention all leftover snacks from Christmas firstly as it's always a good day when you remember you've got a whole chocolate orange to eat still. I also am a big fan of fudge in general and hadn't had any for ages so was pleased when my mum picked up some of the Rydale Farm Gold Collection all butter fudge. It's pretty affordable but tastes really creamy so if you're looking to buy any fudge then I'd recommend it!
TV
I don't watch a lot of actual TV but I did watch Season 5 of Luther on BBC recently, it didn't blow me away but I'd still recommend the series if you've not watched it yet and the previous seasons are on Netflix. Speaking of which, most of the tv shows I watch are things I find on Netflix - my most recent post was a list of all the series I've enjoyed if you'd like some inspiration. My most recent watch was Sex Education, a Netflix original that was absolutely hilarious but also covered some pretty substantial topics. I think it's great that it dealt with taboo topics surrounding relationships, sex and growing up as a teenager, the cast was great too so I'd give it a go if you haven't yet!
Technology
I'm always listening to music and whilst I didn't feel the need to invest in airpods, I did get some more affordable Bluetooth earphones for Christmas because it's so annoying not having a headphone jack on my phone and it's made it so much easier listening to music on the go! I also want to listen to a bigger variety of music this year so these will come in handy for that.
Drink
I was recently gifted a selection of 8 tea bags from Shibui Tea, which is probably one of the most blogger type things to receive ever! They're a super eco-friendly brand as all of the packaging is biodegradable and have some really interesting flavours. I was kindly given some of the classics like English Breakfast and Earl Gray, as well as some others including Rooibos & Orange, Chocolate & Ginger. They also sent two of their Christmas flavours - Mulled Spice and Gingerbread which I was very pleased about. I've not tried them all yet but the ones I have were great, you can check out their products here as they have lots of other flavours!
I'd love to know what things you've enjoyed throughout January, have you watched Sex Education and if so what did you think? Or, I'm always looking for other suggestions!
I love having leftover from the holidays! I enjoyed going to the library (so many books!) and baking some sweets.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched sex ed but I've heard a lot about it.
Thanks for sharing!
